Honolulu Wire is an independent online news magazine dedicated to covering the stories that matter most to Honolulu’s residents, from the small businesses shaping our neighborhoods to the community events that bring us together.

Honolulu Wire is led by Editor-in-Chief Derek Fujimoto, who oversees all editorial decisions, reporting standards, and day-to-day coverage. Funding Sources

Honolulu Wire is funded through two primary revenue streams: advertising displayed on our website and a $7/month membership program that provides readers with unlimited access to all articles. We have no outside investors, and our editorial coverage is never influenced by advertisers or financial considerations. This model allows us to remain independent while keeping the majority of our reporting freely available to the public.
